Topic: Porcupine Tree - N. American Tour Details Posted: May 29 2007 at 09:48 |
Saturday night's concert in Montreal was amazing !!!
A few surprises (I didn't check for setlists), such as Lightbulb Sun and Sever.
I think that the songs from FOABP were the highlights of the night, they were so intense, and they took all their meaning with the amazing projections. It was the 5th time I saw Porcupine Tree in Montreal, and by far the best.

Anasthetize live will be a treat, hope they play the entire album though !!! |
They played all of FoaBP at their Baltimore show.
But I saw some people who saw them before they came here saying they played FoaBP all at once.At the Balt. show they scattered all the songs throughout the set. |
Would you have prefered them playing it from beginning to end ? |
No...I was glad they broke it up.
And Anesthetize was INCREDIBLE live!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
My guess is John Wesley plays Lifeson's solo...
I can't wait to see Harrison's performance in that song... |
He did. And did a great job. Didn't quite hit it like Alex though. One of the best songs of the night.

We went to see Porcpine Tree last night. Amazing. The 2,300 people were blown away by their performance. My Richard liked it too. We did not have to wear our earplugs at all. Gavin was in good shape. His playing was awesome.
If I remember correctly, it was the same playlist described above by Darkmatter.
What is fun with PT, is that you never know exactly was going to come in the same piece of music ( except if you know their songs pretty well, which I don't); sometimes it's gentle with the guitar, suddenly it's prog.metal, to slow down again with the organ and synthe, and during all that time, Gavin keeps holding on many different beats and mesures... Amazing....
Sometimes, we had the same feelings as listening to Pink Floyd or King Crimson as far as the ambiance and sounds went.
PT is one of the best group of the new generation, the most amazing and interesting one...

I wish I could see these guys. Sounds like the shows have been excellent, though.

Melomaniac; I think that we will arrive around 7 h 30 or something like that. The venue is not so big, so no problem here. I am not tall at all, but my husband is 6 feet 1 inches tall, and he wears glasses and a bear. Anyway, have a great show and If ever I see you , I will say hello.

Somebody told me to bring ear plugs because PT are playing loud usually. Maybe we will follow this advise.

I saw them at Philly last night. Great show! The only problem I had with it was that it was too loud, in such a way that it was hard to distinguish parts of some of the songs. The best example of this was in Mother and Child Divided, I've listened to it before and I know what it sounds like, but it was really difficult to tell what was going on when they played it at the concert. My brothers and friend couldn't tell what they were listening to (not only because they hadn't heard it before). But this time I could hear the singing really well, that made me really happy after it was difficult to hear the vocals last time I saw them. Here's the playlist if anyone is curious: Fear of a Blank Planet Lightbulb Sun My Ashes Anesthetize Open Car Mellotron Scratch Drown with Me Sentimental Blackest Eyes .3 Sever Way Out of Here Sleep Together -------------------------------------- Trains Mother and Child Divided Halo

Tony has already seen them on this tour, maybe he said that because Arriving Somewhere isn't on the setlist.
And I hope you feel better FC. |
Haha thanks! But NOOOO!!! :( Oh well I still can't be disappointed with whatever songs they choose
