side note, I think cliques are most present in high schools (around ages 14-18) |
I don't know about that. Maybe my school is weird, but I remember the standard cliques, you know the jocks, white trash kids, popular people, cheer leaders, geeks, losers, and smart kids, starting around third grade. The music lovers, art fanatics, and stoners came much later though, Mind you, they weren't very tight. Hell, I was in the jocks right when the cliques formed. Oh how quickly that changed.
Back to the topic. I guess I don't fall in any one catagory. To my friends I'm the stoner who loved weird music. To people who don't know me I'm the weird quiet kid with really long hair. Teachers see me as one of the really smart kids even though I don't usualy take anything except tests seriously. I'll vote for stoner though. I t seems to be what most people think of me as.

That's my other group!
Also, some people call me a "genius," but I don't think I am. I know I'm very intelligent, but I think someone has to prove their genius. I don't care if your IQ is 160 and you're a technical genius, you're not a genius in my book. Guys like Einstein, Oppenheimer, and Stephen Wilson have proven their genius. They are true geniuses.

I’m part of the cool dudes group at school but I don’t hang out with them because I think they are idiots. I drew the line when they started drinking and smoking.

My friends always call me the wierd one. I guess the first option would work for me. Although I'm not that interested in being in a "social group" or anything like it.

none of the above really hit me spot on, but the most frequent 'nickname' I've recieved would be genius, I guess.
I'm not complaining, though I some times feel like having an IQ of around 140 can create a certain distance between you and your peers(I never even mention my IQ any more, people say stuff like "are you a friggin Einstein or something?" with a look on their face as if I'm from another planet) |
Why do people think that being called Einstein is an insult? It's like saying to a good basketball player "are you a friggin Michael Jordan?". I think I got an IQ of 159 or something like that, just in case anyone was wondering. |
it's nice to recieve compliments about being smart and stuff, but people tend to look at you as 'abnormal' for some reason. it kind of turns out like bands that become known for making weird, abnormal music instead of becoming known for making good music, if that's a plausible analogy to use :p

I really don't consider myself apart of one social group, but if there was a prog group that would be awesome. People consider me weird I guess. I'm not extremely weird or anything, but I don't talk to much (I'm really tired in school), and when I do it's usually random/weird/doesn't make sense. My friends call me pothead as a joke (I don't think I look that stereotypical though)... but I did get "random" drug tested once for no reason.
