Hi all,
Well I guess I took a break for a long time being involved with prog discussions, since the rec.progressive.music days of the mid 90s I'd say... I'm a musician myself, with a focus lately on the Chapman Stick, feel free to check out either link below for some of my music. Jethro Tull is probably the main reason I'm so passionate about music. Rush and Marillion are close behind, then of course the other favorites are Van Der Graaf, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Anglagard, Deus Ex Machina, echolyn... After going through several years of not discovering much new stuff that excited me, I jumped on the MySpace bandwagon which has been fantastic for finding great music, this would include Analog Misisonary, Phideaux, Dredg, Mutemath and others. Maybe these guys are not necessarily "prog" in the traditional sense sometimes, it's a focus on musicianship, emotion and creativity I'm after these days I guess. Cheers... |
