Second this.
I think Gilmour relied quite heavily on a Italian Distrotion pedal at the time as well, forgot the name.
Muff will do just fine, add an eq pedal as well.

A big muff pedal and a delay pedal with maybe a second at least delay capability.

Sounds like you need a pedal that can deal with echo effects (or maybe delay) and some distortion. Other than that, that's a pretty simple guitar sound.
