 Topic: 1970 amazing albums.

It was a year to remember, the material of many of already affirmed prog bands became more mature, new bands were emerging , progressive rock scene was flourishing....

Every source I see says the second album is from 1970.....it seems more likely to me, though I suppose they could have had two albums out in one year

Well, fellow Dutchman, the 1970 Album Top 10 in The Netherlands was:
1) Simon & Garfunkel -Bridge Over Troubled Water
2) CSN & Y-Deja Vu
3) Woodstock Original Soundtrack
4) Ekseption-3
5) Golden Earring-Same
6) Neil Young-After The Goldrush
7) Black Sabbatch-Paranoid
8) CCR-Cosmos Factory
9) Led Zeppelin-I
10) The Beatles-Let It Be
Between 11 and 20 we find bands like Santana (Abraxas), Iron Butterfly (In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida) and The Who (Live At Leeds).
And if we consider that all know progrock bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, ELP, Gentle Giant and King Crimson made decent till strong albums, 1970 WAS AWESOME!!

1969 - 1974 was a particularly amazing time for musical creativity. Must have been the socio/political climate of the time... or maybe it was just the alignment of the stars, who knows, but I don't think this period of creativity has been matched or surpassed since.
