Kansas ... "Miracles Out Of Nowhere" is a pretty well worked out middle section I think probably the best composing I`ve heard for a middle section (not most complex but most effective), however Kansas never get much credit on this site so I don`t expect you to agree

King Crimson:  Starless.  That buildup before the saxaphone solo is incredible.

Most everything I can think of has been said already.

Others:

  • In the Cage - Genesis
  • The Colony of Slippermen - Genesis
  • Siberian Khatru - Yes

Sorry if the following ones are not interludes:

The most brilliant ones are by Genesis IMO:
CAN - Utility And The Coastliners
Firth OF Fifth
The Musical Box
The Knife

Apart from Genesis:
Pink Floyd - Echoes
UFO - Flyin'
King Crimson - Epitaph
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice

South Side of the Sky - the piano and vocal section is excellent, and so different to the rest of the song.
