^ this is a a good suggestion. The line-ups should be part of the bio and we try to do this, unless there are tenths of members that have played in a band. If you have any specific examples that you want to raise, please do so in this thread by submitting an updated bio for the artist/band in question.
This specific thread is for those bands that have no bio at all and whose bio is usually very difficult to track down. |

I have a suggestion. I haven't read through all 20 pages, so I don't if it's been mentioned. I apologize if it has.
After the biography, there should be a section for band line ups. If there are multiple line ups, it would be nice to have all of them, based on year. Sometimes I notice that my favorite periods in the career of the band are because of the specific line up, so it's nice to have the line up information. |

^ Let's change the line to "Taken from Andreas Neimi's website (THE ROOTS OF ECHO's bass guitarist)" or something like this. OK?
Many thanks, L-O, the albums' info updated.

Note:
The above mentioned source website: http://home.wish.net/~antlady/troe.html was administrated for several years by bassist Andreas Neimi but was taken down a while back, that's why the link no longer works - just if some one wonders.

Regarding "The Roots Of Echo": 1, Yes, it does - but it should say 13. [hidden track] (2:56), instead. 2, Yes, please change the line up into this: - Lars-Olof Ström / vocals, keyboards, tambourine, xylophone, sound effects - Sven Lorentzon / electric and acoustic guitar, bass, drums, banjo - Lisbeth Ingvarsson / bass - Pelle Andersson / drums - Erik Kullgren / clarinet - Mia Lorentzon / recorder - Karolina Wikander / violin Regarding "Söabu": Not really, there's some misprints and missing facts in the booklet, so please correct it into the following: - Lars-Olof Ström / vocals, keyboards, tambourine, xylophone, sound effects, percussion - Sven Lorentzon / electric and acoustic guitar, bass, percussion, keyboards, mandolin - Lisbeth Ingvarsson / bass - Pelle Andersson / drums - Robert Sjöback / bass - Fredrik Karlsson / keyboards - Rickard Biström / drums - Linda Ågren / background vocals - Jonas Kernell / keyboards - Stefan Nilsson / bass - Lars Malmros / drums - Mia Lorentzon / recorder - Björn Johansson / bassoon, tin whistle - Leif ? / violin Regretfully, no one remembers the last name of this Leif who played violin on one track and for some reason we only wrote the first names of our collaborating musicians in the booklet, so his first name has to do, I'm afraid. Finally, would you also please change the line up on our third CD "Nothing Between You And The Sun" (http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=10533) to: - Lars-Olof Ström / vocals, keyboards, sound effects - Sven Lorentzon / electric and acoustic guitar - Andreas Niemi / bass - Jörgen Oscarsson / keyboards - Mats Svensson / drums
I think that is all :) Best regards, Lars-Olof Ström Edited by XunknownX - October 18 2014 at 09:10 |

Hi!
I'd prefer that you add it in the end and that you write it like you suggested, please. While at it, please change it to the following: Lars-Olof Ström - Vocals, Keyboards Sven Lorentzon - Guitars Mats Segerdahl - Drums Andreas Niemi - Bass Jörgen Oscarsson - Keyboards The reason I gave the link to the thread was to show how the conversation started, including some useful information about the work with the biography - here's also the link to our new home page, which also could be found there, just a click away: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Roots-Of-Echo/1507750599468141 Lars-Olof Edited by XunknownX - October 18 2014 at 07:55 |

There are also questions to albums info.
1. "The Roots of Echo": http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=10534 1. Catch This Moment (4:33) 2. Too Close To Come Near (3:35) 3. The Easy Way To Go (6:12) 4. The Dream (5:52) 5. Let Love Flow Over (3:01) 6. Another Goddamned War (6:33) 7. Reality And Dreams (5:26) 8. Looking Deeper (3:20) 9. Don't Hide The Sun (4:20) 10. Roots Of Echo (2:53) 11. Soon After Dark (3:03) 12. Somewhere In This World (7:29) 13. [untitled] (2:56) The last track, [untitled], is listed on RYM: http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/the_roots_of_echo/the_roots_of_echo/, but missing on Discogs: http://www.discogs.com/Roots-Of-Echo-The-Roots-Of-Echo/release/2902928. Does the album contain this track? The line-up info now: - Lars-Olof Ström / vocals - Sven Lorentzon / guitar - Lisbeth Ingvarsson / bass - Erik Kullgren / - Mia Lorentzon / - Karolina Wikander / Is it posible to complete it? 2. "Söabu": http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=10535 The line-up info is a bit confusing: - Sven Lorentzon / acoustic & electric guitar, bass, tamburine - L. O. Ström / vocals, keyboards, drums, tamburine, xylofon, percussion - Lars / drums - Lisbeth Ingvarsson / bass - Mia Lorentzon / recorder - Björn / bassoon, tin whistle - Fredrik / keyboards - Jonas / keyboards - Leif / violin - Linda / angelvoice - Rickard / drums - Robert / bass - Stefan / bass Is it correct? |

^ It was my mistake to add the word "initially".
What else could I think reading these lines: " Lars-Olof Ström - Vocals Sven Lorentzon - Guitar Mats Segerdahl - Drums Andreas Niemi - Bass Jörgen Oscarsson - Keyboards "The Roots of Echo" was started by Sven Lorentzon & Lars-Olof Ström, April 1990, in Gothenburg - Sweden, originally just known as 'Roots'. They changed the name to "The Roots Of Echo" in the summer of 1990..."? Though that's not the point. I've deleted the first lines and started the bio with "THE ROOTS OF ECHO was started by Sven Lorentzon & Lars-Olof Ström, April 1990, in Gothenburg - Sweden...". If you prefer I can add this info closer to the end: "1998 - Due to Lars-Olof's health problems at the time, Mats' heavy involvement with SINKADUS, and Andreas' and Jörgen's own projects, THE ROOTS OF ECHO was dissolved. The last line up before dissolving was:Lars-Olof Ström - vocals Sven Lorentzon - guitar Mats Segerdahl - drums Andreas Niemi - bass Jörgen Oscarsson - keyboards The group re-formed in 2012 as a project in order to manage the group's heritage and aiming at some future plans of the resumption of business, initially as a collaboration between Sven and Lars-Olof, then as a non-profit project run by Lars-Olof on his own." And thanks, I've added the facebok page. By the way, usually people give direct links to their websites instead of the link to the thread where you can find requested link. Hi all and thank you very much.
Just one more thing that I noticed now in the beginning of the text - it says "Initially THE ROOTS OF ECHO were". That is incorrect. Doesn't "initially" mean "from the beginning"? As it says in the text it was me (Lars-Olof Ström) and Sven Lorentzon who started the band. The mentioned line up was the last one before we dissolved. The thing is that before that we consisted of myself and Sven with different musicians we borrowed in for different projects over the years, meaning the only real band line up was the mentioned five members line up. My suggestion therefore is to change that sentence to: "The last line up before dissolving was", or something that fits this sites standards when a band has had different line ups. Alternatively, it could be changed into just me and Sven, it depends on how you usually write line ups in cases like this. If so, I did more then sing and Sven played more then just guitar. Regarding our website, please see this topic: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=99968 Regards, L-O Ström |

^ Thanks, I've managed this. But without links to RYM (links don't work well on artists' pages). We can use these links for updating the band's discography on PA.
Please look is it OK: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2290? It would be also helpful to have a link to the band's website. Edited by NotAProghead - October 17 2014 at 16:46 |
