I really do not like Discipline. You can see my review of it for my opinions there. Stick with 69-74 Crim. (IMO)

I  have listened to pretty much every Seinfeld era King Crimson album(exept Lizard, of corse)and loved them all;that is exept for islands, that one would have to be my least favorate KC album(In the wake of Poseidon is my most favorate).  But other than that Iv'e liked everything that I've heard from them.  I also like all the albums from the  Fripp, Wetton, Bruford, Cross period of the band. Any recomendations on later King Cimson albums?(anything from 1975 onwards)

LIZARD IS THE BEST KC ALBUM FOR THE SINFIELD-ERA!!...
... at least, in my humble opinion.
It takes the band's own prog trend to its richest expression so far, enhancing the jazz elements and making the symphonic facet much more sophisticated and, therefore, more dramatic.

  Regards.

Lizard is very good, though it's not perfect. A couple of songs have a jazzy fell to them. If you liked In The Wake of Poseidon then you'll like Lizard too

Lizard is just great... Good selection by the way... If you haven't got it and you've heard In The Court of The Crimson King... Then you'll like it...

mmm never realized that that thing that comes out of the bottle was Yoko...

Lizard is in my eyes one of the very best albums King Crimson has ever done. Its one of thouse album wich really work as a unit instead of different songs. All say that its very jazzy (well in fact it is) but for me its more theatrical, operistic and very Europe between the XVIII and beginings of the XX century, where there were still a lot of princes (Lizard´s price Rupert) and where the circus was the main event to go to for having some laughts and fun. This idea of mine has also much to do with the cover.

In my personal rank its number 3, after ITCOTCK and Larks!

My favourite lyrics on the album are the lyrics to "Happy Family", a sarcastic song about the Beatles (Jonah=John, Judas=Paul, Silas=George, Rufus=Ringo). The Beatles also appear on the cover of the album (all songs are illustrated on the cover, by the way), with Yoko Ono appearing as ghost out of a bottle John is holding.

I think it's a bit weird album. "Circus" is a wonderful song, but otherwise I found the music on it a bit irritating.  I found both "Indoor Games" and "Happy Family" as very terrible songs (riiping his pants in anguish).

Yes, you should by it, very excellent indeed

Very jazzy eh?  I like the sound of that.  I've already heard the song Cirkus, that song sounded pretty good.  I suppose I'll really have look into buying it.

Yeah, I agree with Saviorts for the most part, it's def 'jazzy' but not overly. It really wasn't that hard to get into, but I can see how it could take some people a little time...anyways, it's a good album for a Crimson fan, not a masterpiece in my mind, I'd give it 4 stars, 'An excellent addition to any prog music collection'  If you're just getting into King Crimson you should get (imo) 'In the court' first.

Lizard is excellent. It epitomizes a perfect fusion of jazz and prog rock into one cohesive whole that, frankly, is difficult to beat even by pros of the art like VdGG. I'm really quite fond of the album, and I'd rank as worse than Red and LTIA, but better than than Discipline and tied with ITCOTCK.

In other words, Lizard f**king owns.
