Great to hear you are all enjoying it. I think these guys need a bit of recognition! It definitely gets better the more you play it. I'm especially enjoying 'Water' and 'Calling it off'

Strong album (after a couple of listens) . Guitarist is especially good. If I have one slight criticism it's the vocals which seem a tad weak but would still give it 4 stars (if I get round to reviewing it).

Hi all - I couldn't find any mention of Advent Horizon on this forum in a search, so I thought I would start a new topic on this fantasitc new album they have just released.
They are a band from Salt Lake City, and judging by previous album releases not massively prog. However, this last release most certainly is, and is impressive - because it seems to have come out of nowhere! Having a sound IMO a cross between Rush, PT, Haken and some of Dream Theater's past work - it has a great mix of softer and heaver stuff (I would call this overall 'Heavy Prog'). Definitely worth checking out: |
