Indeed and exactly why I find it so odd and so put it down my list

All three list already posted are surprisingly good to my tastes, but Wyzard's is the closest to my tastes.

However , Release 2 is so annoying with its production sonics (but then again, the whole album is) that I would place it lower in the list - not to mention that the good solo recorded live is totally out of place in the middle of the studio track. So I'd place it around spot 5 or 6.

As for Silent Wings Of Freedom (my fave Tor track), I'd have preferred it on GFTO in replacement of a few sonically annoying tracks on that album.

keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Don't rank either, but Don't Kill the Whale has always been for me the least interesting track. Very much like the rest and the diversity they offer.

4. Don't Kill The Whale
5. Onward
6. Arriving UFO

8. Circus Of Heaven

Songs 1 & 2 are great
3, 4 & 5 are decent
6, 7 & 8 - I don't care for.

First four are really good (4 stars) and then it goes awry. Release Release is just an odd track to me, not sure what they were going for there. Like the message of Don't Kill The Whale and Wakeman's killer solo but not very interesting otherwise. The last 2 drag the album down quite a bit.

I can't rank the tracks but Madrigal is my favorite song.

This album is FAR down my list of Yes favorites, but I have positive memories of finding a vinyl copy (it was out of print at the time) and first listening to it. Today, it's mostly forgotten/ignored and doesn't really fit in comfortably with any specific "Yes era", which makes ranking the tracks that much harder. Please: no jokes about the Birotron or the "harmonized" Rickenbacker bass!

1. On the Silent Wings of Freedom - classic Yes!
2. Onward - classic ballad!
3. Release Release - Alan's drumming!
4. Don't Kill the Whale - Steve's guitar solos!
5. Future Times/Release - positive opener
6. Arriving UFO - Close Encounters, anyone?
7. Circus of Heaven - nice, but too cute - Anderson solo material
8. Madrigal - its fits in with the album's futuristic focus, but also belongs on an Anderson solo album.
