I'll jus comment once on Paul's ratings. On the one hand, Paul attempts to "hear" and then rate every album from a list that's not his choosing. So. He sort of gives an album a chance. I don't know if he ever accounts for changes in his owm tastes. I am guessing on this but he probably keeps all his personal ratings stored in files, so some of these ratings are from his archives and we have no idea of how much or well he listened to any of these. On the other hand, he has admitted to sometimes doing only cursory listenings, and if it were me, I would not issue any ratings and just state my favorite or favorites. We all know Paul has certain types of music that he would rate higher than others, as we all do. He's rather predictable with an occasional surprise.

It makes a nice change to be criticised for underrating albums when I'm much more often accused of overrating albums. Wink

In my defence, I have listened to all of Peter Gabriel's albums in full and rated them all too, although I realise that seeing all of my Peter Gabriel  album ratings listed together just makes them look ten times worse. Tongue

I've only ever owned albums by two artists in this poll: Motorhead on vinyl and Peter Gabriel on CD, and as for the Dead Kennedys, they're one band I NEVER want to hear again before I die. Tongue

^ I'd sooner vote for most of those albums too, especially Blue Oyster Cult. Thumbs Up

None.

No Maiden or Sabs in that list, but I do have sympathy for Ace Of Spade.

keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,

rather than un-sheath our sword

Paul can do whatever he feels like on these forums, but broadcasting one and two star ratings after skipping through a bunch of "classic albums" that you weren't originally familiar with, is both pretty arrogant and unfair. Sometimes the listener is the problem, and not the music.

Yes, we both drew the Ace of Spades, which is meant to be bad luck, but not this time though. Smile

Not because I'm very fond of this album, but it's the closest one.

AC/DC their best...
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
