Actually, this was meant as dialogue with Lorenzo and maybe others on a kind of philosophical level. Likewise, my talk about inter-subjective re-arranging.

I still don't understand what you are proposing.
The current rankings do take account of the number of ratings in the QWR number. |

I seem to have spent half my life doing inter-subjective re-arranging, and when I've run out of CD's & DVD's to rearrange, I'll start rearranging the flowers (in my hair).

well, there is weight on the number of ratings, so you saying there isn't is just wrong. The Top Prog Albums of All Time includes the albums with high number of ratings (and reviews), also some of the most beloved, highest-rated and respected prog albums of all time.

both me and Ian already debunked this, you repeating it does not make it true. The least amount (smallest number) of ratings & reviews for an album in the top 30 is 1100 or so. Need I say that's a lot?!

Let me tell you, guys, if to put more weight on the number of ratings, PA's top 30 would surely look differently from the present one - that would definitely be an inter-subjective re-arranging.

^ How about that? It sounds as void and devoid of substance as the previous statement, just like most of the dialogues you have with yourself.

That is maybe even not quite/so true, as it's more a matter of a subject meeting other, cybernetic subjects, so it's not just about resonance, but a good match. How about that? |

I Use this metro: Five stars: 10/10 9.75/10 9.5/10 9.25/10 9/10 I consider the abums rated 9.75 and 10 absolute masterpieces of music history, not only of prog (If I could I'd give them 6 stars), instead, the albums rated 9 are small masterpieces. ---- Four stars. 8.75 (4 and a half stars, almost masterpiece) 8.5 8.25 ---- Three stars 8 (3 and a half stars) 7.75 7.5 7.25 ----- Two stars 7 (2 and a half stars) 6.75 6.5 6.25 6 ---- One star 5.5 or less Edited by jamesbaldwin - May 13 2023 at 06:40 |

7.5 equals 7 out of 10 = 3,5 out of 5 Edit: lol I don't know what I'm trying here, but it sure doesn't make much sense to me now

But, 7.5 : 2 = 3.75 , isn't that closest to 4 stars? - just to be fair. |

Very good remark - a subject meeting an object, and there's the question how big is the resonance. Edited by David_D - May 13 2023 at 03:34 |

Yes, what's up with that? You've listened to like 170 Tangerine Dream-albums and at least half of them of surely had to be a waste of precious listening time? Your life would be so much richer if you gave a handful of the italianprog classics a chance. Edited by Saperlipopette! - May 13 2023 at 02:25 |

It's jazz, but being in this ranking, I try to see this album as prog. In my reviews, I dont give 5 stars to Miles Davis, because it would be a non-sense if some of his album reached the first position of this prog-ranking.
