We Used To Cut The Grass, a band led by Cody McCorry that features most of the members of Thank You Scientist, released a set of songs on New Years Day called “Visitors Pomp”. Featuring samples from vintage sci-fi movies, brilliant instrumental work, tons of groove, and some incredible solos, this is one of those singular tracks that is both highly complex and also danceable. Parts I and II, and accompanying video are below:

It was the mathy quality of the music that is why I posted it here.

They are great musicians. And it is a really good recommendation. I was infatuated with Cavalcade when it was released. But, I don't know why, my interest has waned quite a bit. I don't know exactly why. Thanks for taking the time to write a reply!

I love Shamblemaths. That guy is an extraordinary musician. But I'm not sure about how well it fits with the rest. I meditated about including this album or not on my initial post, and I decided that I would reserve it for a thread about walking through the woods, dark, classically influenced prog, with Hinterland by Wobbler, A Drop of Light by All Traps on Earth, Viljans Öga by Änglagård and maybe a couple more.
