The Stranglers - Black and White (1978) (this album is actually prog in my book)
Grace Slick - Manhole (1974) (this one too)
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Next (1973)
Rainbow - Rising (1976)
Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny (1976)
Hookfoot - Hookfoot (1971)
Steve Jolliffe - Journeys Out of the Body (1979) (another one that I consider to be prog)
Steppenwolf - For Ladies Only (1971)
UFO - Phenomenon (1974)
Jefferson Airplane - Bark (1971)
The Grateful Dead - Grateful Dead (1971)
Savoy Brown - Looking In (1970)
Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell (1977)
Epitaph - Outside the Law (1974) (another one that is prog in my book)
Atlantis - It's Getting Better (1973) (another prog one in my book)

I left out any albums that are in prog-related or proto prog, so no Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Budgie or Spooky Tooth (for example)

A bit more lyrics from the second half of the 70's:

Television - "Torn Curtain"  (a part of)

Torn Curtain reveals another play
Torn Curtain, Such an expose!
I'm uncertain when beauty meets abuse
Torn Curtain loves all ridicule

TEARS...TEARS rolling back the Years
YEARS...Flowing by like tears
Tears holding back the years
Years. The tears I never shed
The years I've seen before

(from the album Marqee Moon (1977))

+Bowie, Zeppelin, Sabbath... loads more I could have considered. After all it's the 1970's. I couldn't decide on which Morricone, but he should have been on a such a list made by me.

Linda Perhacs - Parallelograms
Selda - Selda
Curtis Mayfield - Superfly
Mal Waldron - Tokyo Bound
