Here are my very loose answers, which will probably be different tomorrow:

1: Act I: The Lake South, The River North by The Dear Hunter
2: Random Avenger by Magyar Posse
3: Si, Partie 1 by Nemo
4: Somewhere Along the Highway by Cult of Luna
5: Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue by Kayo Dot
6: The Crane Wife by The Decemberists
7: Synchestra by The Devin Townsend Band
8: Stati di Immaginazione by PFM
9: 10,000 Days by Tool
10: Posthumous Silence by Sylvan
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

Superb album, music reminds me of National Health. A shame they didn't release a second album. I put this in my top ten of 2005 list. That's the copyright date on the CD. Maybe that's wrong?

I don't know. I don't have it in front me and was basing my list on what I own on RYM (which dates it to 2006, but I apparently have the 2007 issue from Unicorn Digital UNCR-5036). I don't know if I can find my physical copy because I'm transitioning between storage solutions and everything I own from G to Z is piled up on a large dog grooming table (I know, that sounds weird). Embarrassed

Discogs shows 2006 as the original release date. I see they have 2005 as the release date here on PA.

Yes, i know Spheric Universe Experience, their last album was pretty terrible though. good band still.

Venturia? Didn't do much for me.

Also Adagio is great, too.

The best Mind's Eye album by some way is 'A Gentleman's Hurricane', Dominion is Adagio's most unexceptional and mainstream album; it's OK, but it's not as strong as either of the first two or Archangels in Black...

Adagio is still one of the greatest prog-power bands from France, Symphony X influenced, a lot of fun IMO.

I have far more non-prog than prog from these years, it was surprisingly hard to get to 10. Not sure whether 2007 is any better. I looked up the "2006 top albums" on PA and only list a single one of those; I maybe know four or five.

Adrian Belew - Side Three
North Sea Radio Orchestra - s/t
Mogwai - Mr. Beast
Art Zoyd - Champ Des Larmes
Asmus Tietchens - Zeta-Menge
Battles - EP C/B (this has more than album length in fact, despite being listed as EP)
Legendary Pink Dots - Alchemical Playschool
Halma - Back to Pascal
Clogs - Lantern
Peter Hammill - Singularity

I think music from 2006 takes priority specifically. Like I said, a live album, maybe it's worth listing, but compilations make no sense to be listed in the context of this thread.

Good point. If I remove the two compilations, then that'll nicely bring my list down to ten favourite albums for this year. Smile
