Lots of excellent bands here—I'll give it to the best track off of Magnified as Giants.

I only know Jordok out of these ones, so I wouldn't know which one to vote for, but I do love that track, and the whole album. Yet, Kung Bore is something special for me.

Sad Rain but I would recommend some Sinkadus and Landberk songs as well. So many great bands it would be impossible to list all those amazing tunes.

Before voting, I listened to all eleven tracks! ![]() But then the list is incomplete IMO. I understand this is a personal playlist, but I would have chosen different tracks for each band. And where are Agusa, Kaipa, Morte Macabre, Tirill, White Willow? And if we consider more than prog folk, we must also include A.C.T, The Flower Kings, Jaga Jazzist, Leprous, Major Parkinson, Motorpsycho, Paatos, Pain of Salvation, Ritual, Anna Von Hausswolff... By the way, Von Hertzen Brothers are from Finland, which is not a Scandinavian country. If you want to include Finland, you should also consider Malady, a great band: their last album is outstanding! Anyway, thanks for this great experience!

Fair points. I've fixed the Scandi thing and promise to put the band first next time.

Anekdoten - Sad Rain It took me a while to understand the word "Scandi" here. ![]() Also you putting the song titles first confused me even more. ![]() |

I love Mine Templer 1 by Jordsjo find all of Nattfiolen very charming. But personally I'd choose Morte Macabre - Symphonic Holocaust* over all the ones I know among these. *I've registered some here are uncomfortable with that title, but that's what it's
called, and the inspiration stems from italian horror movie scores such
as Cannibal Holocaust - and not WWII.

Here are 11 essential prog tracks from the lands beyond Aberdeen, but which is your favourite? For me it's like choosing a favourite child (my youngest daughter), but today I've decided to choose Anekdoten's Sad Rain. Edited by DayDawnsDark - January 23 2022 at 08:09 |
