Android Trio are an American experimental jazz rock band that aim to blend progressive rock, fusion, IDM and modern metal in order to create a unique sound of their own. The trio is made up of band leader, composer and drummer Andrew Niven and guitarists Max Kutner and Eric Klerks. The three played together as members of John French's Magic Band and the Grandmothers of Invention before founding their own band in 2014 and releasing their debut album Road Songs, a guitar-oriented jazz fusion record, on the avant-jazz label Orenda Records three years later. In 2021, the Android Trio resurfaced on Cuneiform Records with a new album showcasing a new keyboard-heavy sound with more eclectic instrumentation and an appearance by former Zappa guitarist Mike Keneally.
