Ars gratia artis. Art's end is nothing else but art itself. No artist needs to compromise with any standard of political correctness or moral majority. That's the last resort for a free conscience.

In my teens naked ladies on covers would have embarrassed me if whilst playing aforesaid album my mum or other female relative would have seen the album. Now I'm all for it but unfortunately the modern world isn't.

I think it depends on how the nudity is carried out. If it has sexist undertones like - say - Lovehunter by Whitesnake, I would definitely feel uneasy about it.

Ok, I think a little clarification might be in order here. I chose the topic naked men because it seems the majority of prog fans are men and it seemed to me the issue wasn't naked people but naked men. You can see even one person's vote indicates he's homophobic. I'm glad most on here aren't but I have heard complaints in the past about the naked men. After all, what male prog fan(even if he's gay) is going to complain about a naked female? Lol.

It could be worse - it could be men dressed in ladies underwear. |

No issue with it here, but I find it striking that the poll is only about naked men, and not naked people in general. Whether one likes the individual cover or not is a different story, and it is partly due to aesthetic aspects. I have absolutely no problems with Going For the One, but on the other hand I find it hard to look at Herbie Mann - Push Push...

Going for the One isn't a 'soft porn' discussion (just an arse) so we don't need to enter into that. Oh wait....

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Two of my first (and favourite) albums have naked men: Moontan and Grave New world (OK - it's a painting, but.....).
What's the problem?

Certainly it doesn't matter to me, either man or woman, from an artistic perspective.
