These days, 'Wots... uh, the Deal' for me. There was a period there, in the very late 60's and early 70's, where Floyd sometimes had a folky, atmospheric, sometimes slightly psychadelic vibe which I really like ('Julia Dream', 'Grantchester Meadows', 'A Pillow of Winds', 'Wot's...', OTTOMH. There may be others I'm forgetting.)

TBH it's not really Waters' best lyric. This theme must have been on his mind at the time though, because he revisited it, this time with poignancy, on Breathe / Time.

"Free Four." That was the obvious radio tune, the one my local station used to play back in the day.

I love the Mudmen one, but I had never really noticed Burning Bridges to be so very similar (nor have I heard it nearly as often). I guess I'll have to give that song another check. |

For me, it's between 'Burning Bridges', and the reprise later, 'Mudmen', that really are sort of the same song; one with lyrics and the other instrumental w/ great and expressive guitar.
Did a listen.. Burning Bridges it is. Edited by Machinemessiah - May 05 2021 at 18:17 |

Underrated album with several excellent tracks. The last of Floyd before they polished every note. Going with Mudmen

I understand it was cooked up at the legendary Château d'Hérouville in around 6 weeks which was absolutely breakneck speed by Floydian standards!

All in all an excellent album, often overlooked. My vote goes to Wot's... Uh The Deal, lovely tune, great title.

Not the album I was expecting as a follow up to 'Meddle' but I like the title song, 'Obscured By Clouds'.

All tracks are good, but Stay has always been my favourite. The title track is second.

Childhood's End. I love the acoustic guitar strumming fading in just before the drums kick in.

It's between Free Four and Childhood's End for me. Voted for Free four, to give it some love.

I've actually come back around to this band and i've been really digging most of this record. I love the opener, almost gives me a bit of a Krautrock/Neu! feel. Mudmen and Absolute Curtains are great as well as of course Wats Uh The Deal. I'll have to relisten and think about it.

Wots...Uh the Deal --- when I can't think of a song to play, this is one of my go-to songs.. Puts me in a better mood. I also love "Stay"
