Pass me the gin

(PS. A couple of decades ago I made a few song translations into Finnish, just for my own pleasure, one of them being a tongue-in-cheek, fonetically soundalike version of 'Dust in the Wind' which dealed with alcohol. Hence my choice of words hereSmile)

Only for a breath mint and the breath mint's gone
A curse upon the heads of those who seek their fortunes in a lie. The truth is always waiting when there's nothing left to try. - Colin Henson, Jade Warrior (Now)

Now, after the ambitious and long rewriting of Pirates, a much shorter one that everybody knows by heart: Kansas' Dust in the Wind.

Just a reminder of the rules for those who want to join the effort:
1. One line per post (to stimulate the collaborative aspect).
2. It has to sound a bit like the original (rhyme, sounding like... like kids who mimic a song without knowing what they're actually singing).
3. It also has to fit the number of feet of the verses (more or less).
4. Same length as the original song.
5. In the original song there are some repetitions, but it is up to the person whose turn it is to go that way or not to repeat (and thus write an original line).

In a good prog tradition, the lyrics don't necessarily have to make much sense...
And don't hesitate to start a Rewriting classics #4, if you feel a certain urge...
