Hi and thanks for the listen. Yes the music has only some slight aspects of prog but I thought some folks on here might like it for the fast thrashy guitars and sweep picking ( track 8 : Alive - both solos ), and the vintage keyboard sounds I've used throughout. Yes it's a solo project - I do everything on it although I'm still working hard on bringing my keyboard and overall production skills up to scratch. I think I'm getting there though..

A good album indeed, sounds not so progressive for me though. Sounds more of post rock for me. Your solo project? Excellent!

If anyone is interested there are now 8 instrumental tracks on my little zombie themed album project ranging from just under 3 minutes to just under 9 minutes. All the songs are guitar driven and very heavy and all have kind of wacky titles appropriate to the zombie theme. Some of the tracks are fast and furious but others, particularly the longer ones, are a bit more proggy and played at a more "normal" pace. I gave up posting tracks on soundcloud because I didn't like the way the sound of them was being affected by that website - something in the coding maybe..?? It made my songs sound kind of weird in an indefinable sense. Whatever, they are now only available on Bandcamp via the link given below. Edited by Zombie-X - November 11 2020 at 11:23 |

Cheers for listening. It's all kind of tongue in cheek with an element of humour and not intended to be taken at all seriously, but I hoped it might appeal to some listeners. I'll post some more tracks up as and when I can get them finished.

Hi everyone. I'm new here and not sure where to post this so I'll try in this section. If I'm posting in the wrong location maybe someone can let me know. Here are my first two short instrumentals on Soundcloud. I recorded them in Logic on a macbook pro. I don't have any real studio gear and had to do all the monitoring and production on my headphones. The guitar I used is an antique Vantage VP 710 (I think) which was made in 1979 (I think) and the bass is a really awful home built thing with good hardware and EMG pickups but with an improperly dressed neck which is so thick it makes the bass really hard to play. I hope maybe one day I'll be able to afford better instruments. The keyboard sounds and the drums are via a studiologic SL990 midi controller which is a nice keyboard to play and probably my best bit of kit. I don't know if anybody will like the tunes but I've tried to make them as professional sounding as I can with my limited equipment so I hope so. Edited by Zombie-X - August 15 2020 at 01:15 |
