Frankly, I don't feel optimistic that this idiosyncratic behaviour will appeal to the rest of the pulchritude in the house.
magistrate - spanking - fulcrum - poison - smoke - latitude - orange - megalomania

But isn't this a prog site, and shouldn't it be complicated like the genre's music? Anyway, I'll try to make it flexible and simpler here. Somebody puts 8 words, at least 1 of them (2 is better) should be very advanced and difficult to know.
The next person builds a sentence out of the words, S/he doesn't have to use all the vocabulary, but has to use a word that s/he doesn't know in his sentence, and write that word in quotation marks. The aim and fun of the game is, using a word that you don't know in a sentence in a clever and/or amusing way. If one knows all the words, s/he simply doesn't use quotation marks. And s/he puts another 8 words in the same post, for another person. Here's the example: regularly - distinctive - underwhelming - adumbrate - section - vicissitude - lesson - interesting The next post be like: The lesson was underwhelming, but "adumbrating" regularly was interesting. And the next person adds his/her vocabulary here. Let me begin: frankly - optimistic - pulchritude - idiosyncratic - feel - rest - house - behaviour Now you have to make a sentence out of these words by following the rules (simplified here) and put your vocabulary. I, in a couple of seconds, invented a bizarre game and have developed rules for it, hope it will be fun.
Before reading: I explained the game in great detail, but it is a simple game in its nature. Don't be "overwhelmed" by the rules. 8 words - one makes a sentence or sentences out of them, and puts his/her 8 words. The details are below. One writes 8 words in his/her post, and another builds a sentence or sentences with the ones that he knows (not necessarily all of them), only adding one word or two words from the list among the ones s/he doesn't know. (If one knows all the vocabulary put, kudos to him/her or angry face towards the previous person, it depends.) In the sentence(s), the word(s) that one doesn't know should be in "quotation marks". Also, if one knows all the vocabulary, s/he simply makes his/her sentence(s) without using quotation marks for any word. 3 words at the most and one word at least should be very advanced and difficult to know, and at least 3 words should be very easy. The rest better be in intermediate level. One can add words like "she, is, on, under, that, before, will, had" and the like freely to build sentences. Plural forms, past participles etc. are also acceptable. No use of dictionary while forming the sentences, but it is okay for finding the words for the next poster. The main aim of the game is to see if one can be successful or creative when "adding" the vocabulary s'he doesn't know in his/her sentence(s) and make them sound reasonable. As this is just a game, you can add your own flavour; but for the sake of fun, try to be understandable. Please be reasonable while composing your 8 words for the next person. Don't forget that s/he has to build a sentence or sentences out of it. You don't have to use all the vocabulary, but you also shouldn't add another vocabulary except for the types noted above. For example: regularly - distinctive - underwhelming - adumbrate - section - vicissitude - lesson - interesting The next post be like: The lesson was underwhelming, but "adumbrating" regularly was interesting. And the next person adds his/her vocabulary here. Let me begin: frankly - optimistic - pulchritude - idiosyncratic - feel - rest - house - behaviour Edited by Shadowyzard - June 11 2020 at 17:06 |
