It's a pity really because the studio albums are immaculate but I realise that they probably need a bigger venue to properly fill out the sound and then they wouldn't sell all (or most of) the tickets if they did that. The atmosphere was certainly brilliant and there is a lot of well deserved love for this band.

The sound in Newcastle was not perfect either.

Enjoyed the show on Friday although I didn't like the 'sound'. The house PA system didn't cope well with 13 guys it seems! Good to see Rob Reed and Chris Fry (Magenta) in the audience supporting a fellow prog band.

I suppose they had to drop Judas Unrepentant and The First Rebreather eventually. However I saw them do those in Basingstoke last year so will be good to hear more focus on the newer material.

Given how much The Underfall Yard means to me personally (see my review), I think I would have been disappointed with this in the absence of any tracks.
I was going to book Newport, but other things got in the way, sadly. |

I thought they might have included Swan Hunter in the set but that is just me being picky of what was a superb concert.

Outside the boundaries of your questions, I'm excited to see where Big Big Train will play in the States when they do come here.

I have tickets for BBT show in Newcastle on October 26th.
If anybody has the chance to see them before that, or reads anything about their concerts, I would like to know: - which set list(s) are they playing? - is there merchandising for sale? which items? (need to foresee taking enough cash in UK pounds) - I heard that because it's the 10th anniversary of The Underfall Yard, this album will be especially prominent in the set list. Is that so? - any useful info about the venue, Newcastle City Hall. - any other info about the tour and concerts which may be useful. Thanks!!
