YES!
I have been a fan of the Apex Theory for a long time. I, too was
disappointed the first few times I listened to Topsy Turvy, but after
that I was hooked. Since they parted ways with the lead vocalist,
they have become a great deal more experimental. I ordered the
inthatskyissomethingwatching EP from their website and it is absolutely
incredible. I recommend it to everyone here. It's
experimental rock that changes rapidly, but flows well and is quite
listenable. I hope to hear more great stuff from them in the
future. I wouldnt call them a metal band, and maybe not "prog"
(but definitely progressive!) but fans of good experimental hard rock
should DEFINITELY check them out.

The Apex Theory is a band which I first heard on a internet radio
alternative rock channel, got interested and ordered their first and only
album. After couple of "disappointed" spins I was hooked and listened
them for most of the long and dark fall here in Finland. They became one
of my favorite bands.
The broke up with their singer after a while, but decided to continue as
three piece, their guitarist in vocals. Since then they have produced one
EP (another is coming), which can be listened in

I encourage fans of metal (especially bands like Tool, The Mars Volta) to
check them out. I don't know if you can think of them as "prog", more like
alternative rock, but they are great anyhow. Or it might just my "different"
taste in music...
Tell me what you think.
