In no particular order... because that's just too difficult!!
1. Coma Ecliptic (BTBAM) 2. Leftoverture (Kansas) 3. Trilogy (ELP) 4. Temple of Shadows (Angra) 5. Prophet of the Last Eclipse (Luca Turilli) - I know this one isn't technically prog but the album's complexity of arrangements is on par with some of the best prog albums! 6. Act V (The Dear Hunter) 7. Aquarius (Haken) 8. Excerpts from a Future Past (Haellas) 9. Ghost Reveries (Opeth) 10. Carving Desert Canyons (Scale the Summit)

Hahaha, yes it's true that regions of the brain need at least temporarily be switched off for this kind of task to avoid agonising about whom not to list...

Mike Oldfield Ommadawn Gryphon Midnight Mushrumps Tangerine Dream Rubycon King Crimson Discipline Camel Pressure Points Rush Grace Under Pressure Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon Peter Gabriel So The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Jethro Tull Songs From The Wood The first three are my all time faves, the others could be in any order. Maybe Sergeant Pepper should be given special mention, as I think it was the album that set the whole ball rolling, as they had to invent multitrack to finish it. |

Your list shows a lot of breadth in style! FWIW, I included Shpongle in my list, because there are some psychedelic ambient artists that I consider very proggy.

Mansun never get enough appreciation imo. That was a remarkable album for the 90's , they were the Gentle Giant of the indie scene. That is a truly intriguing list! |
