This list spans many years. Some are no longer favorites, but all were favorites at one time or another. Some are not considered prog by some, but are perhaps prog related.

Alan Holdsworth ... IOU/Metal Fatigue
Yes ... The Yes Album/Fragile/90125
ELP ... Brain Salad Surgery/Tarkus
Jethro Tull ... Thick As a Brick / Minstrel In the Gallery
The Police ... Regatta de Blanc / Zenyatta Mondatta
Genesis ... Selling England by the Pound / Foxtrot
Gary Numan ... The Pleasure Principle / Replicas
Rush ... A Farewell to Kings / Power Windows
Pink Floyd ... The Wall / Wish You Were Here
Barnabas ... Feel the Fire / Approaching Light Speed

1. Coma Ecliptic (BTBAM)
2. Leftoverture (Kansas)
3. Trilogy (ELP)

7. Aquarius (Haken)
8. Excerpts from a Future Past (Haellas)
9. Ghost Reveries (Opeth)

Mike Oldfield        Ommadawn
Gryphon              Midnight Mushrumps
Tangerine Dream Rubycon
King Crimson       Discipline
Camel                 Pressure Points
Rush                   Grace Under Pressure
Pink Floyd           Dark Side Of The Moon
Peter Gabriel       So
The Beatles         Sergeant Pepper
Jethro Tull           Songs From The Wood

The first three are my all time faves, the others could be in any order. Maybe Sergeant Pepper should be given special mention, as I think it was the album that set the whole ball rolling, as they had to invent multitrack to finish it.

Your list shows a lot of breadth in style!

FWIW, I included Shpongle in my list, because there are some psychedelic ambient artists that I consider very proggy.

Mansun never get enough appreciation imo. That was a remarkable album for the 90's , they were the Gentle Giant of the indie scene.

That is a truly intriguing list!
