Indeed. Don't be sorry for liking other music.
Currently, about a year after discovering Prog, I mainly hear Prog.
Before then, even when I knew Prog but wasn't really into it, I heard a
bit Rap combined with Hip-Hop, Trance and Linkin-Park copy like bands.
Currently I still hear stuff as Alternative, rock, hard rock and stuff like that.
Lately I also tried some Metal, there were albums of which I really
liked, but I barely hear Metal anymore. I prefere Prog Metal much
better.
Perhaps you hear all these kinds of genres now, but it can narrow to
Prog ONLY in couple of months. That's what I think happened with me.
It does not mean other kinds of music sounds terrible to my ears, it just says I'm not really into anything other than Prog atm.

lately my musical tastes range from hard-prog to prog-folk (with
almost subgenres in the middle)... a bit narrow-minded, eh? Maybe
one of these days I'll go home with the unstoppable urge to spin that
Gerry Rafferty compilation that I used to love when I was in my early
teens... ok, all this just to say that I find nothing weird in you!
Welcome to this site!
P.s.: did you take your nickname from Faith No More? I really loved
that album
I've just seen your profile, happy birthday!

Hey, don't be sorry about liking different kinds of music. I personally like to stick to prog, but I (and probably most people in here ) can respect the fact that some people are very open- minded about the kind of music they listen to.
Anyway, welcome to prog archives and have fun!

Actually i am a new member on this forum and it has not been a while since i discovered this site after all.Great work and great piece of music i must say.I always thought that prog-fans were open minded and i'm glad to say that mostly this is true.I like different music styles such as techno/trance/alternative/prog rock/jazz fusion/brit pop and some metal stuff too.You might think that this is weird .Yeah it sounded weird in my head too when i realised that.So don't be dissapointed if i find Eat Static and Rush equally influencial(don't get me wrong,i mean in their own music aereas) ..!I've warned you..
It's all music after all...
Cheers
