Exactly! Thumbs Up
That's precisely what I used to do back then - went to bed and left  the tape running (an old Grundig mono reel-to-reel)

The Snow Goose, with the original over the 2013 version.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

I drool (metaphorically Big smile) everytime I listen to SG, nothing I can do about that ...
(it was one of the formative albums of my musical taste, way back when I was a very young boy, sorry micky LOL)

Rubycon.

However if it were Snow Goose on the '78 live album; different story.

And how about the version included on "A Live Record"? I don't actually have the original studio album, but have that live album with the whole Snowgoose and with orchestra. I find it very enjoyable, actually, and don't think I need to get the studio one (nor the new re-recording, for that matter).

My view exactly.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Two bands that I love, but this vote is for the bird
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

The Snow Goose. Not to say that Rubycon is not good; it is actually a really good album, but The Snow Goose is quite excellent.

I have never heard Rubycon so I won't vote but I assume you are referring to the Tangerine Dream album. If it was Phaedra well I'd still probably vote for snow goose even though I really like Phaedra.
