^Yes, it´s just my personal opinion. But anyway I think he got very great technique also, but never interested to become "bass hero" what people specially in the seventies tried to him to become.

^ not quite (yep, love Pikhassilma and B the Magpie). But too many extraordinary bassists actually. Whether it’s Pekka (for your taste) or Harris, Wetton, Bello, Beggs, Cetera, Claypool or Casale, it’s the musician who moves you the most in whatever styling you admire, and that makes them an awesome musician in your world.

Hopper plays on all my fave Soft Machine-album, Rock Bottom and another dozen of other minor gems. Always a joy (of a toy) to follow/listen to.

The "best" out of these is probably Percy, which I voted for btw...but the most interesting from a musical point of view ie composing, experimenting and so forth is most likely Hopper (the British version of Holger Czukay).
