Ok Proger, I just pulled out my Chick Corea LPs..
"Romantic Warrier" was towards the end of the Di
Meola/White/Clark/Corea collaborations.. It is a very polished
album. It's a great frickin record but in my opinion, it does not
"sing the body electric"... as much as this next one:
"Where have I known you before".. that is a powerful, youthful ,
electric record.. and I personally like the compositions more than
ROMANTIC WARRIER>
"No Mystery" is my 2nd favorite, and is also quite good, but not as good as WHIKYB but IMO better than Romantic Warrier.
as for Dicks suggestion, it's a good one, but a whole different
ballgame. I think I prefer the guitarist Bill Connors on " Hymn of the
7th Galaxy" to Al DiMeola..Bill Connors bent the guitar strings like
they were spagetti. Al DiMeola is fast and furious... but not a
string bender like BC is... a song on this one (HOTSG) called "Captain
Senior Mouse" is just awesome... I used to do a cover of that song a
long time ago. Bill Connors was untrained according to his
website.. I find him to be a bit like an early Allan
Holdsworth... He was simply amazing. Now that I think about it..
this one is tied with WHIKYB.. just an amazing record.. including the
title track.
How are you set for other fusion... Jean Luc Ponty ? pick
up "Imaginary Voyage"... Weather Report? my favorite of
theirs is "Heavy Weather"... Gong --- I like "Expresso".
Brand X -- "Product". I could go on forever.. Passport was
great as well... Bruford's fusion band was cool..
Anyway... have fun.

The best I can suggest is the samples offered by Amazon.UK:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000046X0/qid=1124 212362/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_11_3/202-7694684-7859008
or from the very first album:

Romantic Warrior is the proggiest, but for something more dangerous and longer lasting (IMHO) Hymn Of The 7th Galaxy
