Portland closes tomorrow morning and Rome kicks off.

Most of the Portland matches are pretty much in the bag but two of them are still razor thin.

RTF v. Radiohead

Area v. Talk Talk

Don't be like Ivan LOL if you want to vote vote now . not two hours after the polling stations have closed. Clap

I'm looking forward to that. Indeed that whole Rome bracket is a killer.  One never predicts upsets of that kind of magnitude, but I do think the K.C. army will need to show up. Can is one of those bands who I think have a lot of latent love and respect in the prog community and definitely one of the few 'non-heavies' capable of pulling such an upset.

After only a quarter of a round of voting, only 4 of the original 176 participants have a chance at maintaining a perfect bracket. The rest of us either made a simple miscalculation, just wish to go against the grain even in the prog world, or are just plain out of our minds.

Who'da thunk that Le Orme would have given Rush such a run for their money. But Rush had that final gasp of air in them. They had Clockwork Angels, and what did Le Orme have? This round also saw two matchups go into overtime, one of the most exciting parts of this tournament. Interesting note on the overtime games.

California: 2
Rest of the World: 0

Next up, Lima. Carry on folks, while the final scores in Portland are being determined.

LOL awesome! Well done sir!!

You should have kept it a secret and used your votes to throw a monkey wrench into the works. LOL

I'm having the same problem. I've meant to check out all of these groups at some point, but I just never did. I think I'm going to listen to an album by each artist I've not listened to this week.

Yeah, I had to work late last night and was in bed early so I really didn't check the vote totals till this morning and saw we were likely going to need a tiebreaking mechanism. I just whipped up the idea of using the PA's album charts to break ties. Quick and clean without bias.  Sorry to see Samla go.

Yeah, PT out was the big wow of the first sets of results. I sure didn't see that coming.

I thought Zappa would walk all over the Softs myself.  I think Riverside has a good chance against Zappa.

Yes, that Gong-Anglagard matchup should be a hoot.

Banco over Yes?  Ohhh...PFM maybe would have a real chance..  not Banco IMO. They will be a good Vegas underdog going into that. They'll get some love and respect, but not nearly enough support to really compete with Yes like PFM might have been able to do.

Welcome to week 2 of the PA's Battle  of the Bands.  The polls close on the Detroit brackets in 10 minutes and soon after the 8 Lima contests will kick off.  We have special reporters on the ground in Detroit to bring reaction from the results. So after a commerical break we will watch the clock tick down to zero and see who advances from the Dead City bracket LOL
