No brainer for me though I enjoy both.

Even though I have certain reservations about VdGG's music, there's no way in hell I'd choose TMV. Not my kind of music really.

Really enjoy both, but for me the clear favorite is VdGG.

I knew this would happen, but for me The Mars Volta is the clear winner.

A battle of the ages! The daring and innovative Hammill and his crew against easily one of the most innovative prog bands of today. Both can be known for inaccessibility to certain audiences, but the similarities most likely stop there.

Which will advance from this epic battle? Who do you like more and why?

Please: If you are not familiar with one or both of the band's material, I urge that you use the links provided and at least listen to the samples on their respective pages.

VDGG's PA page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=343
TMV's PA page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1033

As always, discussions are encouraged.

Recap:
Round 1

A4:  The Residents v. Tangerine Dream    (12-15)
