The morning of the second day (just hours before reaching Riga) was amazing. The ice in the Gulf of Riga was so thick it was like cruising in the Arctic.  As an added bonus it was full of immobilized freight ships, trapped in the ice just about everywhere. Spectacular sights, especially in the winter sun.

Why not? For fun, of course. Never been there. Weekend cruise with some friends, a day in Riga to see the sights. Great fun as a whole, but it was a shame that the weather was so cold. Also: me with quite a bad cold + boozing = not good.

lol, and I'm still under moderation for the General Music Discussion section from when Raff and the other early mods got mad at me over nothing. But Raff quit moderating and hasn't come back there or to PA since October of last year, so OH WELL. 

Also, I see the same ads on MMA as here, so I guess that's why I keep seeing so much terrible metal. And wtf, the star rating of the recent reviews do not appear on the MMA homepage, you have to go to the review permalink to see it, fantastic web design there...

I've spent most of tonight doing research on acquiring a large exotic lizard as a pet.  I've originally been leaning towards a monitor lizard (maybe a Savannah or a Black Throat) because they're huge and awesome, though I've also been looking at tegus, who don't usually get to the size of most larger monitors (3.5-4 feet max) but are omnivores and are supposed to be not only more docile but also more friendly, attention-seeking and fond of their owners.  If I could raise a tegu to be the size of an adult monitor that would be sick.

I just lost the link (it had profanity in the URL anyway), but I just read a post by someone who said that his Freshman year of college his friend's girlfriend caught him masturbating to one of the girls on The Price is Right. While I don't understand the thought process for that, I can't imagine the agony he must have suffered. 

This is surprisingly disturbing.
