Up was pretty good as long as you don't overanalyze it.  It was an entertaining cartoon (or whatever the proper terminology is).

Seconded.

Maybe it's time to finally watch those Tarkovsky movies.

Wait, I did see Up.  That was my nephew's 1st movie that he saw in a theater, and he has it on DVD now, so I did see that.

I second your second.

I saw bits of The Hurt Locker, that's it.

Also, I'd throw a Zeuhl party if I knew that it wouldn't scare everyone away.

How's life in English academia?

Did you go with the Zeuhl party theme or something else? Tongue

I saw the results on IMDB last night. I was surprised that Avatar didn't win more, seeing as how people were going insane over it.

Oscars - the thing making me wonder why I'm still watching it

Martin & Baldwin's opening was horrible.
It lasted again a painful four hours.
And I totally forgot that, last year, each of the leading role nominees are now presented in boring 5-minute fashion by other actors. Memory refreshed.
Stiller was okay until he started talking. Then came the overdoing it part.
Best Foreign Pictures should be taken off as a category, because I actually don't remember the right movie being awarded in over five years.
I didn't manage to see A Single Man, but Jeff Bridges was the unworthy awarded anyway.
And Bullock getting it was downright BS.
Also, it turns out Hurt Locker IS promoted as something related to human sacrifice, bravery, duty, or ends up plainly dedicated to soldiers fighting in Iraq. Which I honestly hate to hear it being said from the director and cast itself, because the movie really looked focus on something else.

So meh.

I've just post a review about Shaman, I suppose there's no too many people who knows them... great Prog metal band... one of my favorites...
Change the program inside... Stay in silence is a crime.
