Ok, not someone famous but I found out last night that my uncle Bob passed away. He and my aunt were in a bad car accident about a week ago (along with my niece) and wound up in the hospital with broken ribs and broken sternums. My aunt recovered but my uncle didn't make it. He was a big fan of Pink Floyd and also the Alan Parsons Project (but that's about it as far as prog or rock goes). He was 95. RIP uncle Bob.

You're most welcome. It is moving. My grandfather did something similar when he was Garth's age. He would just, without prompting, begin singing these old Irish songs that his parents used to sing, from his childhood. And this was a guy who was NOT an artsy guy. On the contrary, he was a gruff, prickly guy as a young man, but he found comfort in music late in life. Music is a powerful connection. |

Garth  According to the notes, this is one of Garth's last times playing. The caregivers encouraged him to play, and the video was shot by his cousin. Garth wanted to play that day for them. The songs he sings are hymns from his childhood that he remembered. A precious recording to have. May God Bless you, Garth. |
