I've yet to hear of anyone who really can't stand Los Jaivas, Banco, or Gryphon, it seems that everyone who knows them, likes them.

I dislike porcupine tree, too boring and angsty.

Anglargard's music for me is pretty good, but nobody will think the same, I remember some people blamed them for being "reggressive" instead of "progressive", maybe those who think like that are not really into Prog yet, or maybe Prog Rock isn't for them, because for me it's too hard to blame them, because it's Prog! and they're one of the best Prog band in the last 30 years, and it's certainly good and I like it too! ;-)
Or they could just not be a fan of symphonic (or regressive music--surely you can see why some people desire innovation always); there's a lot of prog besides symph.

I feel like such an outcast reading this thread when people keep declaring that nobody dislikes ITCOTCK or Yes or Steve Wilson..Maybe I should head back to the RIO Room. ;-)

I never got Cinema Show, incidentally. I always found Fifth of Firth much better.

I believe, that everyone who knows Tasavallan Presidentti, likes their music on some level, more or less, but no-one dislikes them. At least I've yet to find one.

I think Mars Volta and Radiohead get a lot of unnecessary flack here.

Other band which I think is hard to blame are Camel, I think no one could say that Camel's music is bad, all what happens is they simply don't like it, or have another preference, anyways, it's their loss...

Van der Graaf Generator is an interesting band; usually when I play my music in the car with friends, they'll ask "what the hell is this" and ask to change it. But VdGG is one of those bands that my friends, raised on classic rock and 80s rock, with no progressive tendencies at all (aside from ELP), really like. It's interesting, I think it's the band's really cool catchy melodies, however evil and bleak they may be; you can hum along to a VdGG song. Somewhere, they found the balance; more bands should seek that balance.

Well, it's been said that nobody doesn't like Sara Lee.
Uhm, forget about it, that's a commercial jingle and I am losing my mind.  I will try not to take the rest of your minds with me. Wacko
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
