Very difficult to choose between Red and Larks Tongue. I went with Red simply because of Starless, though. I don't think any one King Crimson album matches up with these two, not even In the Court of the Crimson King, which I find to be a tad+ overrated.

thank you for the nice welcoming
i thought about splitting the king crimson era into periods too but the problem is, that, strictly speaking, every album from 1969 to 1974 was recorded with a different line-up a different lineup and therefor i would consider every one of those albums a "period" in king crimson.

My "first period" album would be In the Court. My "second period" album would be Beat. My "third period" album would be a toss-up between ConstruKction and Power.

i would say it's a close one between Lark's Tongues and Lizard but i it's hard for me to chose because i love all of them
