Phish - New Years Eve '95.
They are so underappreciated on this site, I can't believe it. This is an incredible live album
King Crimson - THe Night Watch, Absent Lovers, and VROOOM VROOOM
Not enough people have heard these, which is a shame, because KC are a band that needs to be heard live.
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade - Live Frogs Set 1 And 2
They aren't on the archives yet, but this band is definitely prog. The band covers King Crimson's "Thela Hun Ginjeet", Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", and the entire Animals album. Every song gets an extended jam. It's an amazing show.
Non-prog:
Dave Matthews Band - Live In Chicago
Wilco - Live In Chicago
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense
Pixies - Death To The Pixies
Lou Reed - Rock N Roll Animal

The best show I saw was Rick Wakeman's Return to the Centre of the Earth. Too bad it won't make a live album. Anyway my favorite live is DT's Live Scenes From New York.

Bullseye! If any of you hasn't listened to this album you should! Amazing is adequate, but awesome is closer to the truth :-) Mogens

The last live album I really enjoyed listening to was probably Gnidrolog: Live 1972 which
I gave repeated spins a few months back. Their sense of humour comes
across more strongly than ever, and the whole show is hugely energetic
and shows a brilliant level of musicianship and skill. The audience is
clearly select but they're having a whale of a time regardless, and anyone who
wasn't there then was obviously missing out.
As a rule, I tend to listen to live albums much less frequently - live
shows are better suited to videos and dvds, I feel. You always feel
like your missing half the fun with live CDs.
