I'm 17.

I've been listening to prog through my dad for as long as I can remember, though. He'd play IQ all the time...might explain why I love them so much.

hi, you all-  should I tell you that I was born in 1950.?.... survived the 60's, and came to love what is now called progressive music.  In fact ,I am glued to this site in order to make up for 35 years of the MOST excellent sounds.   The bands reviewed here are amazing and  the artistry,well.....wow!  I never realised the extent of the prog, symphonic, neo ,or otherwise . In the past , We lacked access due to corporate  money games.  Now the internet has opened the world.!!  what a trip.  porcupine tree is my latest joy - see you all around here from now on.  thanks, archive folks!!!

I'm 19 and I'm here thanks to videogame music...

Two years ago, I was in high school. We were watching "The Wall" (yes, the Pink Floyd movie!) and I heard "Is there anybody out there?". I inmediatly recognized the note sequence: it was almost identical to "Succession of Witches", a song from the game "Final Fantasy VIII" (you can hear a midi here, if you don't believe me: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/index-classic. html).

So, I started an investigation regarding Nobuo Uematsu music (and his influences...).

And here I am, listening to Camel, ELP, Focus, Pink Floyd, and many, many others...

It seems I'm not the youngest anymore, having turned 15 on October 30.  (Finally old enough to vote in Manni's age poll! Yay! )

That might be the case for the majority but my favorite style of prog is
symphonic. I found progressive music through Dream Theater and Yes
(discovering them through liking classic rock, not prog.) That's why my
name is FragileDT giving tribute to my first (and life changing) Yes album
and Dream Theater. Now my favorite band, by a long shot, is genesis and
it has been for some time now.
One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

Definitely wrong, I'm 20 I like most all prog I like prog-metal but thats the one genre I listen to the least I think.

Well you're only one person after all. There are people who come here for mainly prog-metal.

I,m 21 and Prog-metal is not my favourite. I rather like Symphonic, Canterbury and Space Rock.
I know what I like and I like what I know...

Prog is in my heart, in my mind, in my soul...
