as i mentioned before i really like DT epsecially in their first 5
albums, i don't have a problem with DT....it's their fans who make me
furious sometimes with their opinions.

They're no doubt very good in what they're doing.
Just not my cup of tea, except for the wonderful track A Change Of Seasons. Can't get into their music.

Definately Prog metal masters.
But I've taken a more critical stand lately, since I don't think they
are showing their full potential anymore. Instead of great mindboggling
guitarriffs there are simple powerchord passages, instead of Petrucci's
intensive, emotional solos, there this running up and down the
guitarneck as if he practicing some scale. And the drumming has gotten
more repetitive and straight forward. Still very good music though, but
I'm more fascinated with other bands nowadays.

They are progressive metal masters. But there are a few prog metal bands that I like just as much as DT(PoS,Shadow Gallery,Symphony X,Tool).

I've always felt that they were superb. but i haven't gone any further into the prog-metal subgenre, so i don't know if anyone is better, probably.

I've always had this question on ProgArchives, do a majority of people here dislike Dream Theater? Now I'm creating this poll to confirm my thoughts.
Please vote, thank you.
