I'll ask for it to be moved. Smile

Also, try Exivious. Not as intense or metally, but quite jazzy. Another suggestion might be Panzerballett, which is an awesome mix of both metal and jazz, and 1980, which is heavier on the djent side but has a nice jazz element as well.

Dude thanks guys i havent looked em up yet, but i will. I play drums so i have a pretty advanced sense of time.. Without sounding conceted. But i was recently asked to play bass in a friend of mines band. They listen to (from what i could tell) simpler stuff. I mentioned meshuggah and they dont really like them. But i really want to try and implement some weird stuff

Meshuggah was one of the bands i briefly looked into. I enjoyed the passages involving many polyrhythms with odd chords creating an ambience. I listen to alot of heavy heavy acoustic jazz involving skittery blast beats and hard hard swing. But i guess now im looking for really creative and different metal. I wish i could just describe it as jazzy, but thats a very vague term.

Ive been really into avant garde jazz for awhile now and i know there are metal bands who implement these ideas into their music, but i dont know of any. Im really into using odd tones and ideas such as ambient conversation or nasty random emotional improvisation with strange instrumentation. If you guys could just give me some suggestions id be real glad. I am mainly into intense, difficult to understand, dynamic and composite music. Music you have to listen to ten times until youre like "ohh sh*t that makes sense!".

So dont hold back. Please :)

Also, and im guilty of this as well sometimes, but please suggest bands you think id like, and dont just repping your favorite. lol i know its hard
