I think regardless of whose side any one is on, a war between Gabes and Frippers will most certainy be civil.

Agreed.
And I don't think ANYBODY
needs to point out how Paganotti, Top, Moze, Delacroix, etc. are better
bassists than Greg Lake by several orders of magnitude. Or how
Klaus Blasquiz could sing circles around Lake, for that matter.

oh I couldn't agree more on the bassists... but simply no one... NO ONE touches Greg Lake as a vocalist.

I haven't..... I really wanted to see Magma at Nearfest earlier this
year but was in Italy. I love Vander man. He is a god....
but Palmer would still take him. Tough one.. my favorite
two drummers there.

like most of you all... you forget the important one... Palmer... who looks like he's in better shape now than 30 years ago
Fripp and Vander wouldn't last 10 min against Palmer

ELP will drop out after a few years of warring, just like Russia in WWI.

What's that in the background? I recognize the sequencer in the front, but I don't know what that is in the back.

Gabriel is my choice over Fripp as for the individuals, but as for what they represent (Gabriel - song oriented, radio-friendly prog, and Fripp - the challenging, experimental side), as you said, Fripp FTW.
Again, Vander is the banner of hope in this war.
