Alright, for the prog purists I'll mention some prog love songs I remember:
Wondering aloud - Jethro Tull
VDGG - Lost
Yes - Sweetness
Requiem - Jethro Tull
There are a lot more corny songs but I don't remember well. But again, I got the feeling that prog is too cold to talk about love the way other genres do, and this is IMHO.

Some Prog is about Love.
Twelfth Night's "Love Song", as a single example.
But if you're not going to talk about Prog, how about discussing this topic in the "Non-Prog" lounge, eh?

The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Prog isn't about love, soul is. Marvin gaye, The classics IV, Stevie Wonder and the other brothas. No, I'm just kidding, there are fine love ballads by prog bands but if your purpose is to play them for your sweetheart I don't think it makes sense. Play Marvin Gaye instead, let's get it on!

I wanted to add "Dolcissima Maria" by PFM, even though I don't understand the Italian lyrics, the title sounds like it, and it's a lovely song. |
If I can find the lyrics, I'll translate them into English for you. BTW, the title means "Sweetest Mary", and it is indeed a love song.

Well, then consider it "love song related" Actually, I think it's more about a love out of reach.
Also, "Julia" is a song about Lennon late mother, so...does that count as a love song?

I'm not really a fan of love songs, I just like this song because of its repetitive rhythm, but the lyrics happen to be based on a love letter.

Hmmm, well I'm not into love songs really, so my list is mainly depressing stuff!
Van der Graaf Generator - Lost Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - Man of the World (I class this as a love song, of sorts) Gov't Mule - Beautifully Broken
And one slightly cheerful one, but not because it's an amazing tune as such, but because it holds a lot of memories for me:
Guns n' Roses - Sweet Child Of Mine (my best friend's favourite love song, she loves it and we always dance to it, it's our song).

Spock´s Beard-She is Everything
Gary Moore-Still Got the Blues
Thin Lizzy-Still in Love with you
All of my love, Friends-Zeppelin
Julia-Pavlov´s Dog

I think Alan Parsons won the Oscar on this matter... "A dream within a dream" actually gets me; Afterglow (Genesis) also moves me quite a bit... "Playground love" by AIR...
