National pride

No!. Holland must be one of the most hypocritical countries in the world. We are plagued here by shifty governments who have no direction at all. For instance our neighbours and friends Germany, Belgium and France made a stand when Bush and his clan planned to attack Iraq. Not the Netherlands, Bush is the most powerful man so he has to be followed doesn't care if he lies, our governments are used to that. In politics here telling the truth is not done. Very typical.

Current government is particularly bad but it has  always been something of a shambles. At least it's democratic.

We must all count our blessings though and as there is no poverty here i think we are all very lucky that we were born here.

And fortunately there are also some good things going on here. Chess and Bridge scene are very lively here and we have some really good players in both sports.

As for music since i joined PA i have come to recognize that Holland has quite a few good musicians  in the past as well as in the present. Also the concert and festival climate here is very good.

And never people should be proud about the fighting, the wars ,the ocupations of their countries and the economic power,but for the people who gave something good to the country ,like artists,scientists ,etc,.

I do have some. I mean i live in the most powerful nation in the world. If only we used the power correctly. But i can't do much about that...at least at this point. Even if i say bad stuff about America, its usually not meant to be aimed at the US itself, but the people in charge/making the decisions, being i disagree with some to alot of the policys/laws/legal actions/etc of the US. But i do feel lucky to be an American...even though i never show it.

No, America has been someone less than stellar as of late, in my opinion.
