I wonder why they're not more popular than it's the case, and one of the reasons might be (considering their first two albums) that their style is only little Pop-influenced comparing to the typical for Symphonic Metal.

a lot of symphonic metal is very catchy and poppy, you'd be surprised.

All of the albums together in one place, including bands who are in this poll but won't appear in the next one, and bands who are in the next poll but don't appear in this one, if you follow my meaning. Wacko

Achtung! An impressive Teutonic debut from Xandria - a melodic German Metal band with all of the symphonic glory and none of the growls. Smile

that's a good album, but they got an ever better one. Smile
I have a good feeling that I'm going to like all of Xandria's albums. Thumbs Up

Enter Within Temptation! They were my favourite Symphonic Metal band, but now I'm not so sure, having just heard the amazing debut from Visions of Atlantis. Ermm

Only one more album to go now, then it's on to Symphonic Metal Poll #2. Smile

5 stars 2002: Visions of Atlantis - Eternal Endless Infinity - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nkbLcRIjCZDNjJLR8ueHlaxJAShVStqVY

The hills are alive with the sound of Visions of Atlantis! This Austrian band represents classic operatic Metal at its very best and there are no growlers! Julie Andrews would be proud of this album. You won't hear a better example of beauty and the beast-style Symphonic Metal than this in the Eternal Endless Infinity of Metal albums. Visions of Atlantis' demo versions sound better than most band's finished product, as you'll hear below. Star

^ You're right. I'd never heard of Theatre of Tragedy's Aegis album before, but I liked what I heard in the YouTube clip. Thumbs Up

Thanks. I did enjoy it, and when I said earlier that "Let Me Down" sounds like Madonna, that's a positive thing for me and not a negative. Smile

I doubt you know the album Aegis by Theatre of Tragedy. Give it a chance, it's a masterpiece.

^ Sorry. No more Madonna videos, I promise. Somehow, I doubt whether Madonna is actually playing that electric guitar, which makes it even more baffling why she switches guitars partway through the video. Maybe the stagehands just forgot to plug it in for her. Tongue

This sentence is ruining my good mood. Dead
If you're in a good mood today, I'd hate to see you in a bad mood. Tongue

Here's some Electro-Dance-Pop for you in the style of Theatre of Tragedy.....

again, no need to ruin my day.
