Yes, I was counting prog-related albums, live albums and compilations and also counting double albums as two albums, but I wasn't counting downloads - just CD's and vinyl albums. Smile

If the answer to all 4 is yes, and counting double albums as 2 as per the OP, this would be my list:

1. Wishbone Ash 32
2. Neal Morse/Neal Morse Band 27
3. Camel 10
4. Transatlantic 9
5. Mostly Autumn 7
6. Flower Kings 5
7= Yes 4
7= Spock's Beard 4
9. Flying Colors 3
10. Pink Floyd 2
11= Barclay James Harvest 1
11= Beatles 1

You just reminded me, I'll have to update my list as I forgot to include Mike Oldfield. Embarrassed

Hi,

I won't even bother counting ...

VdGG
Peter Hammill

I have so many of both, that I can't even entertain a count or which album I want to hear first!

However, the most of anything I have is Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze. KS might have the most CD's in my collection.

Djam Karet
Mike Oldfield
Vangelis P.
Hawkwind
Frank Zappa
Anthony Phillips
Can (projects and solos)

that's just a rough guess though; when we like an artist we get all official albums of them, studio and live, so there may be others we have more of

Is this ordered by (estimated) frequency? I'd expect Tangerine Dream to have more than a hundred if not 200; can Hawkwind (or anyone on your list) top that?
Who is part of the offsprings of Can in your collection? As I wrote I have some 60 and that's far from all (Jaki and Damo are on a lot of albums that I don't have, although I think I have Holger's official LPs/CDs completely - not including all singles and mini-LPs though - and most of Irmin's).

Geezus...I'm not going to sit down and count through hundred of CDs and albums (including duplicates, boxed sets and one-offs). Offhand, I'll say:

Jethro Tull
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
Frank Zappa (including Mothers and solo)
The Moody Blues
Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin
Yes
Genesis
King Crimson
David Bowie
Santana

to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

I'm only going by my incomplete cataloging on RYM, numbers may vary over time...

1. Yes = 24 [this surprised me]
2. Eloy = 22
3. Genesis = 21
4. Marillion = 21
5. Electric Light Orchestra = 20 [this surprised me too]
6. The Flower Kings = 18
7. Steve Hackett = 17
8. Glass Hammer = 17
9. Porcupine Tree = 17
10. Rush = 17
11. Spock's Beard = 16
12. Ozric Tentacles = 13 [I thought this would be higher]
13. Pink Floyd = 13 [the Shine On box set counts as 1 here; if I added the 7 albums, PF would be at 19 (or 20 if I include the early singles CD from the box)]
