Welcome. It's nice to see young people that appreciate prog. (lots of old geezers like me here!)
Enjoy the forum!

Welcome aboard!
My 26 year old daughter is a Big prog fan, particularly the avant, I may be to blame, she's been to Nearfest, ProgDay and RIO and a bunch of concerts. The artist Emme Phyzema on here is a 20 something female artist from Ohio, met her at last years RIO where she was there as a fan. Checkout her music on bandcamp, good stuff. |

Welcome to the forums....My son is mid-20's and also enjoys the depth of music that you do. You will not find a majority of people in your age group who do, but they are out there. Just listen to who you want and who you find compelling. You will eventually find others who do, too, this was a pretty smart choice of a place to ask. And kudos to you for following your ears and not those of the crowd.

LOL my poor english failed me miserably - I meant to say he turned around 180 degrees from his past musical tastes, and the sentence came out totally equivocal - sorry for the false alarm LOL

^ I was gonna say, that's incredible. And you're right Jose, 180 is a bit too old for a girl in her twenties. |

Welcome to the forums! I'm 19 and non-binary and also love both alternative rock and prog rock.
I listen to most of the artists on your list but the ones that I absolutely love are King Crimson and Porcupine Tree. Anathema's We're Here Because We're Here and Renaissance's Scheherazade are also favorites of mine, as is some of Peter Gabriel's work.

I am in my twenties, female, and my whole life I have listened to rock, with a particular love for 90's alternative & grunge, and the beloved progressive rock.
But young females interested in prog seem hard to find? I've never had a friend to share my love of prog.. My parents go very hard in the scene, I've attended countless shows since birth, even the very last Nearfest etc. It flows through my blood at this point. Unfortunately, almost no one else young around me seems to have any interest or they don't understand it. Prog Favorites include: King Crimson Anathema Phideax Renaissance Porcupine Tree or most of Steven Wilsons work Peter Gabriel Consider the Source Shoutout to Mattias for Anglagard and Necromonkey Plenty more beyond |
