Yesterdays I think this is a really fine collection, delivered at the right time. Great to catch a nice whiff of Bruford, his witty logic. I love every song on this. |

No, I agree Joel. It is a far better album than many make it out to be, and I will always have a soft spot for Circus of Heaven. A marvellous concept and so bittersweet when Damien expresses his dosappoitment at the end. |

I think Tormato is one of their best, believe it or not... For me, its only great when I put it in context with my love for prog... It was one of my first ever Prog albums and one of my first YES albums (Along with Magnification and Relayer). I can't really think of anything that makes it a bad album, to be honest. -Joel |

I actually don't dislike Tormato as much as many Yes fans seem to. Future Times/Rejoice is especially fond to me. But I still can't realistically rate it above any of the other albums. Sometimes I think I like it better than GftO, then Awaken reasserts itself, or Turn of the Century.

Hmmmm.....
1. CttE 2. Relayer 3. The Yes Album 4. TfTO 5. Tormato 6. Fragile 7. GFTO Thats my take on it. I have no idea how any of you could put Tormato at the bottom of the list... A fine album, easily one of the best played. -Joel |

OK, here's what my list would look like (of those same albums):
1. The Yes Album 2. Fragile 3. Close to the Edge 4. TFTopographicOceans 5. Relayer 6. Going for the One 7. Tormato I have to admit tho I dont have all of 'Tormato' but it did not sound as good as others from the stuff I have on the 5 CD boxset.

Definitely don't miss those! Their debut is worth 4 or 5 stars, and really is excellent. Here's what my list would look like (of those same albums): 1. Close to the Edge 2. The Yes Album 3. Going for the One 4. TFTO 5. Relayer 6. Fragile 7. Tormato |

I go way way back with YES, and I saw them over 25 times back in the 70's, in SF at Winterland (no drugs sex and rock and roll of course). My favorite all time album is The Yes Album, followed by Fragile (is my age showing?). Tormato is the worse, but that is like saying cold lobster is not as good as warm lobster...

The vast majority of posters on the forum will tell you that it is a great album, and I respect them all too much to diss that opinion. My own feeling is that it is utterly unrepresentative of Yes, but that is solely judged by the absence of Anderson. I would recommend that you get both The Ladder & Magnification as very good examples of the band's later works. |

I've been listening to Yes for the last couple of weeks, and I really like them. Very cosmic and trippy in places, but so beautiful. I've only listened the albums from The Yes album to Tormato, and pretty much liked every single one of them. This is how I would rank them:
1. Close to the edge 2. Fragile 3. Tales from the topographic oceans 4. The Yes album 5. Going for the one 6. Relayer 7. Tormato I was thinking about checking out Drama, but I can't get enough time. I'll listen to it sooner or later. |

I'm listening to Beginnings by Steve Howe. That's right that his voice is not so good for lead vocals but somehow, I really like this album, great guitar playing obviously! :)

I'm not saying I disagree- 90125 is a great album. I just don't find it essential.
I should note I will also give it 3 or 4 stars when I get around to it. |
