Again, I meant in the future you can give Opeth a chance, just stick with the albums that are not progressive death metal.

Just try listening to:

Damnation
Heritage
Pale Communion
Sorceress
In Cauda Venenum

good for you then...
Yes, and I might learn something too. I already know I should avoid like the proverbial plague, the cookie monsters running rampant in the music of Dimmu Borgir and Opeth, having listened to both bands now. Thumbs Down

Like Nick told you, Opeth have several albums that have no growls and are basically retro-prog, you might enjoy those. Starting with their 2011 aalbums Heritage, Opeth gave up the death metal in their music and became a retro-prog band. Also their 2003 album Damnation is Camel and Gilmour worship.

On a positive note though, I already know I'm going to love listening to every album by Ayreon in this series of polls, even though they're not Symphonic Metal. Thumbs Up

implying and giving advice are two very different things LOL
Okay, I'll accept I was following your implication and not your advice - for the sake of argument. Big smile

It's not even an implication, I probably asked you if you listened to or know the albums in your polls, which now I know you do not.

When do we get round 2?….

😊
When I've listened to all of the albums in this first poll. I'm over halfway there already, so I'll hopefully post Round 2 before the end of March. My New Year's Resolution was to follow Cristi's advice by listening to all of the albums in my polls before moving onto the next round, no matter how long it takes. Sorry to keep you waiting.  Wink

I've never given you such advice. Don't invent things.
There I go again, name-dropping, which always gets me into trouble with you,  but at least you can no longer say I ignore your advice. Tongue

name dropping? what?! LOLConfused
Why did you mention me in the post above? And about things I never did? ConfusedLOL
