Theo Travis is great too, you won't be disappointed.
But David Jackson doing Canterbury is cool! He also has the last say on the album to, with his flute playing. Great album.

David Jackson only plays on the first Tangent album "The Music that Died Alone".
Theo Travis plays on the last two.

Can't believe I forgot Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine. Absolutely
wonderful, full of intricate Pop melodies with some unusual twists and
turns.

I agree on the Oceanside. It's a flawed album, but with some real high points. You Can't Keep a Bad Man Down is tremendous.

The Gathering - Home
Proto-Kaw - The Wait of Glory
The Tangent - A Place In The Queue
Then again, I don't buy a whole lot of brand-new prog, but these are some I've picked up and liked. Actually the Tangent I'm kind of waffling on - I like the concept of a side project for a super-group of prog musicians, but at times they already sound a bit dated, so I'm curious to see how people still feel about that one a year or so from now.
Oh, and Super Furry Animals Love Kraft is excellent. I think that's maybe a 2005 (at least the CD case says that), but it was really late in 2005.

The best album I have heard from 2006 is TFK - Paradox Hotel.

I actually do fall asleep to it sometimes, but that isnt a bad thing. It is just a very mellow and relaxive album. I love it to death, definitely Gilmour's best work in years.
