The Source from Ayreon followed closely by a very thiny hair of From Silence To Somewhere from Wobbler.

First vote for Procol Harum. Novum is an album that could have been made in the early 70s. It's of the same level of the best Procol Harum. The Eloy one is quite good too.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

The Mute Gods (Nick Beggs) tend to be a bit overlooked. I like all 3 albums they put out and listen to them regularly.
Plenty of other good releases in 2017 for sure. Mike Oldfield returns with his best album for 25 years or so. the Big Big Train and Anathema albums are solid efforts that were consolidating rather that pushing forward in any meaningful way (but I love both bands). Wobbler release their best album arguably. I like all of them probably about equal. Roger Waters album, like Oldfield, could be his best album for a very long time. Sounds almost like a lost Pink Floyd album, he takes back that sound succesfully including the great guitarist Dave Kilminster who has also released his own solo albums and previously worked with Keith Emerson among others. Steve Hackett, Loney Robot, Kaipa and The Tangent also put out good albums in my estimation. I became a bigger fan of Motorpsycho with the more recent Ancient Astronauts but I like the Tower as well.

Went with Ayreon, although it’s not one of their best. Also like the Oldfield and Mostly Autumn albums. The Optimist was a letdown.

My favourite from 2017 is This Is The Sound by Cellar Darling😎

Oldfield > Mostly Autumn > Threshold > Anathema

Think I've got to give it to Mike... it's a beautiful album
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
